ELECTRONIC - "GETTING AWAY WITH IT" WITH "LUCKY BAG"

Electronic is a British New Wave band formed in the 90's by New Order lead singer, Bernard Sumner and Smith's guitarist, Johnny Marr.  My interest in the band is based on the participation of the Pet Shop Boys on their first record.  I picked up this single because Neil Tennant sings background vocals and is the co-writer of 'Getting Away With It'.

The second track on the single, 'Lucky Bag' has no input from either Pet Shop Boy.  It is decidedly more house oriented than the lead track and certainly fits in with the music that was popular at the time.  It's an instrumental but it's still a nifty little tune.

With 7 tracks total, it's a value single for sure.  Although there aren't a huge variation of versions here, there's enough to make it worth checking out.  'Getting Away With It (Nude Mix)' sounds like it could've been mixed by the Pet Shop Boys and features a distant clip of Neil Tennant singing, "I love you more than you love me" over and over.  There's a Vocal Remix of the track that includes Sumner's vocal track.  But I prefer the Nude Mix to the Vocal Remix.

It's a good single and I'll discuss the track in greater detail when I do the actual album.  My final words:  A NIFTY SINGLE FROM AN ICONIC BAND!
